The Legacy
Started 42 years ago as a construction firm with development projects in the vicinity of Pune and Mumbai metropolitan areas, Antarkar & Associates evolved to become a leading Structural Engineering Consultancy excelling in Steel structures and strengthening the RCC structures having projects all across the country and even a few abroad in Africa, Europe, Middle East and US.

Mr. Abhijit Antarkar is a veteran of the pre-engineered buildings (PEB) industry, with over two decades of experience in delivering some of India’s largest and most complex steel structures through precision-driven and value-engineered design.
Coming from a legacy rooted in Civil Engineering and Construction and fascinated by the engineering marvels from ancient temples in South India to magnificent forts in North India spanning centuries and the modern engineering wonders all around the world, it came naturally to Abhijit to venture into Civil Engineering and specialize in Structural Analysis and Design.
An alumnus of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, Abhijit also earned recognition as a University Ranker during his Bachelor’s studies at Pune – a testament to his strong academic foundations and commitment to engineering excellence. Driven by vision, resilience, and excellence, he continues to lead with a hands-on philosophy, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and professional integrity.
Abhijit holds a deep conviction in the responsible use of Structural Steel, viewing it as a valuable resource that must be utilized judiciously. Alongside his work on large-scale global-standard structures, he takes equal pride in contributing to impactful and efficient steel solutions.
What sets him apart is his inside-out industry perspective. Having worked with leading PEB manufacturers before establishing his own consultancy, he understands both design intent and ground realities. This unique dual exposure enables seamless coordination between concept and construction, minimizing risk while maximizing performance and economy.
Abhijit believes that collaborative brainstorming, active engagement with field experts, and continuous knowledge exchange are essential to building the capability required to manage the increasing complexity and scale of modern projects. He strongly advocates the adoption of global best practices to drive excellence and innovation within the profession.
